Send your Dog on a Playcation

Morristown, TN

You stay busy with work, school and your social calendar. Chances are, this means you have to leave your dog home alone – probably for longer than you would like, and definitely for longer than your dog would prefer. Even if you work from home, not being able to pay attention to your dog can make them antsy or anxious. Whether you have a big day on tap or you just want to help your dog burn off some energy, we suggest you schedule a playcation at our facility in Jefferson City. Read on as, today on the blog, we explain why you should send your dog on a playcation.

The importance of play

Exercise is important for all dogs. It provides both physical and mental stimulation. Our play services meet both of these needs. We also recognize that not all dogs are social – just like some people prefer to be on their own. Our Play Camp provides opportunities for your dog to engage in pack play with other pooches. We put your dog in a group with others of similar size, temperament and energy level. For dogs that prefer not to be social, our Play Care package provides one-on-one interaction between your pet and a member of our staff. Any dog that is not spayed or neutered also will be assigned to one-on-one play.

The benefits of play

Socialization with other dogs will make your pet a better canine citizen. He or she will have better behavior on walks, at the dog park or when you have guests come over. A well-socialized dog experiences less anxiety around new dogs as well as new people.

Safety

We have a spacious outdoor area for your dog to romp and play with the pack. In fact, we recently installed new outdoor turf on each of our play yards. And if your pooch needs a break, each of our daycare guests has their own climate-controlled suite, which includes access to a private outdoor veranda.

Greater confidence

During each play session at doggie daycare, your dog will learn good behavior, be better able to adjust to new dogs and make new friends. In summary, your pooch will become more well-rounded and confident around new people and dogs. Moreover, all that attention in play camp will mean your dog goes home ready to rest, which makes for less “doggie mischief” at home. It’s truly a win-win!

Less guilt

You know that look your dog gives you when you are headed out to work, school or to run errands? That mournful stare that says “how dare you leave me!” By using our doggie daycare services, you won’t have to feel guilty about leaving your dog home alone. You’re also welcome to check in on your pooch at any time during the day.

Is a playcation right for my dog?

We believe that any dog can benefit from a playcation, but we do have certain policies that we follow in the name of health and safety. We require all our clients to have up-to-date vaccinations for rabies, parvo/distemper, and kennel cough. We also inspect each dog upon arrival for fleas, ticks and other parasites. As a result, we strongly recommend that owners use a topical treatment for fleas, especially during the warmest weather months.
